Women's HRT from a PMHNP-BC medical home
Dr. Dorothy Chatelier, DNP, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC treats psychiatric syndromes that track with reproductive transitions. HRT is coordinated, not sold as a personality upgrade.
Women's Hormone Therapy for North Miami Beach patients
Brain fog has a differential; estradiol is one line, not the only line.
Libido workup is medical, not moral.
Credentials and method
Controlled-substance prescribing, when used in Women's Hormone Therapy, follows Florida PDMP review and a monitoring plan. Stimulants and benzodiazepines are never started from a portal message alone.
When Women's Hormone Therapy overlaps with psychotherapy needs, the practice coordinates with therapists rather than replacing weekly therapy. Medication and psychotherapy have different mechanisms and both may be indicated.
Care is structured around validated instruments (PHQ-9, GAD-7, ASRS, MDQ) plus a clinical interview. Scores inform Women's Hormone Therapy; they do not replace it.
Indications and differentials
Surgical menopause with mood destabilization.
Contraindication counseling itself can be the visit goal.
Thyroid disease as a co-indication for labs, not a DIY HRT start.
SSRI sexual dysfunction plus a hormone question.
In-office versus Florida telehealth
Parking at 7603 Davie Road Extension is on site. North Miami Beach patients who drive 24 minutes should plan for weekday 9:00–17:00 hours; Saturday is by appointment only.
North Miami Beach sits in Miami-Dade County. County-level resources (crisis lines, hospital ERs, IOP programs) are discussed during Women's Hormone Therapy when a higher level of care is safer than outpatient titration.
Review contraindications to estrogen.
Shared decision: HRT, psychotropic, both, or neither.
Monitoring and safety in Women's Hormone Therapy
BP check.
Do not exceed physiologic replacement as a mood experiment.
Emergency precautions for chest pain/neuro deficits on estrogen.
TSH with free T4.
Clinical FAQ
Can this be telehealth?
Counseling and some follow-up, if you are in Florida. Procedures and some exams cannot.
What is PMDD?
A DSM-5-TR diagnosis with symptoms in the luteal phase that remit after menses. Timing matters.
Do you do pellets?
We do not run a pellet-first model. If a GYN uses them, we still require a psychiatric formulation.
Crisis?
988 or ER. Especially for postpartum psychosis.
Can progesterone worsen mood?
Yes in some patients. Tell us; we change the plan.
Can I refuse HRT?
Yes.
Can North Miami Beach residents use your Hollywood office?
Yes. Our Hollywood office is about 15 minutes from North Miami Beach via I-95. We also offer telehealth for routine medication management and follow-up appointments.
Do you understand immigration-related mental health challenges?
Yes. We see many patients dealing with adjustment stress, anxiety related to immigration experiences, and intergenerational trauma. Our evaluations consider these cultural and social factors alongside clinical symptoms.

After Women's Hormone Therapy is scheduled, complete intake forms once. Repeating the same history at every visit is what we are trying to avoid.
