Titration and monitoring — not a refill mill
Sleep meds are reviewed for next-day impairment, falls, and whether CBT-I or apnea treatment should come first.
What Medication Management actually includes
Best-practice med management is boring: lists, labs, and dates.
ADHD titration follows a confirmed differential. Heart rate, sleep, appetite, and diversion risk are part of the visit.
Labs, scales, and follow-up cadence
QTc risk: ECG when combining high-risk agents.
SGAs: weight, A1c, lipids; AIMS on a schedule.
Informed consent stored in the chart.
Missed labs = delayed titration.

South Florida heat, hurricane disruption, shift work, and multigenerational households show up in Lauderhill presentations. Medication Management intake asks about those stressors explicitly.
Neighborhoods we hear from most in Lauderhill include Inverrary, the 441 commercial spine, and central Lauderhill. ZIP codes 33311, 33313, 33319 map to this service-area page.
Commute noise on I-95 and the Turnpike changes whether an in-office Medication Management visit is realistic this week. Telehealth is used when the clinical exam does not require the office.
You fear dependency, so you skip doses and then crash, which looks like 'nonadherence.'
How Medication Management is structured
If side effects appear, do not wait for the next quarterly slot — tighten follow-up.
No-show after a high-risk start triggers outreach.
Revisit the original diagnosis if two classes have failed.
Telehealth visits verify Florida location.
DSM-5-TR framing for mood stabilizer adjustment
ADHD medication only after the evaluation supports ADHD over mimics.
Intolerable side effects that might respond to dose change, switch, or adjunct.
Need for metabolic or neurologic monitoring on an existing antipsychotic or mood stabilizer.
mood stabilizer adjustment still has to map to a problem on the list.
Questions we hear about Medication Management
Can you help me taper?
Yes. Tapers are scheduled by drug class. Do not stop MAOIs, benzos, or paroxetine abruptly on your own.
Do you monitor antipsychotics?
Weight, A1c, lipids, and neurologic side effects are part of the protocol.
What labs do I need?
Depends on the drug: TSH, lithium level, A1c, etc. We will list them in the plan.
Can a PMHNP-BC prescribe psychiatric medication in Florida?
Yes. Dr. Chatelier is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Prescribing is within Florida APRN scope, with monitoring.
Can medication management be telehealth?
Yes if you are in Florida and the case is appropriate. Controlled-substance rules still apply.
Can you prescribe if I am traveling?
Only if you are physically in a state where we are licensed — currently Florida telehealth.

Yes. Dr. Chatelier is Haitian-American and deeply understands the cultural perspectives on mental health common in Caribbean communities. She provides respectful, culturally aware psychiatric care.
