Telehealth medication management for Florida patients
Tapering is a procedure. Stopping paroxetine or a benzodiazepine 'cold' is not a plan.
What Medication Management actually includes
Side-effect visits are diagnostic: we name the mechanism when we can.
Antipsychotic monitoring is metabolic and neurologic, not just 'mood better / worse.'
Neighborhoods and ZIPs: 33160, 33162, 33169, 33179
ZIP 33160 is the lead postal code listed for North Miami Beach. Mail-order labs and pharmacy routing still use the patient's actual address, not this page's city token.
{access}. That access pattern is why Medication Management for North Miami Beach is written as a service-area page, not as a fake storefront.
South Florida heat, hurricane disruption, shift work, and multigenerational households show up in North Miami Beach presentations. Medication Management intake asks about those stressors explicitly.
Hyponatremia on an SSRI in an older North Miami Beach patient was never checked.
Clinical FAQ
Where is the office for in-person med checks?
7603 Davie Road Extension, Hollywood, FL 33024 — about 24 minutes from North Miami Beach.
What labs do I need?
Depends on the drug: TSH, lithium level, A1c, etc. We will list them in the plan.
Do you prescribe benzodiazepines long-term?
Rarely, with a documented indication and a taper orientation. They are not a standing plan for GAD.
What is PDMP?
Florida's prescription drug monitoring program. We check it before controlled substances.
Can a PMHNP-BC prescribe psychiatric medication in Florida?
Yes. Dr. Chatelier is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Prescribing is within Florida APRN scope, with monitoring.
Do you work with my therapist?
With consent, yes. Medication does not replace psychotherapy when both are indicated.
Can North Miami Beach residents use your Hollywood office?
Yes. Our Hollywood office is about 15 minutes from North Miami Beach via I-95. We also offer telehealth for routine medication management and follow-up appointments.
Do you understand immigration-related mental health challenges?
Yes. We see many patients dealing with adjustment stress, anxiety related to immigration experiences, and intergenerational trauma. Our evaluations consider these cultural and social factors alongside clinical symptoms.
Labs, scales, and follow-up cadence
QTc risk: ECG when combining high-risk agents.
Valproate: level, LFTs, CBC, pregnancy counseling.
Alcohol withdrawal is not managed as an anxiety refill.
Stimulants: BP/HR, sleep, appetite, PDMP, diversion discussion.
Indications and differentials
Need for metabolic or neurologic monitoring on an existing antipsychotic or mood stabilizer.
ADHD medication only after the evaluation supports ADHD over mimics.
Taper request that requires a medical schedule.
Intolerable side effects that might respond to dose change, switch, or adjunct.
From intake to follow-up: Medication Management
If prior authorization is required, start it the same day.
Review PDMP and allergies.
Send the prescription to a named pharmacy; document the pharmacy.
Decide: continue, adjust, switch, or taper — one primary change when possible.
Book Medication Management
After Medication Management is scheduled, complete intake forms once. Repeating the same history at every visit is what we are trying to avoid.
Request a Medication Management visit by calling (888) 307-2199 or using the booking form. Bring current medications, prior labs, and a list of what has already been tried.
