Medication management from the Hollywood medical home
Polypharmacy is treated as a risk to be justified, not a badge of complexity.
What Medication Management actually includes
Refill-only care is not offered. If you need only a refill, you still need a monitoring interval.
Functional psychiatry does not mean 'no medication.' It means medication plus the labs that could change the choice.
DSM-5-TR framing for mood stabilizer adjustment
Failed or partial response to a current agent after an adequate trial.
Perinatal prescribing only with risk-benefit counseling.
Intolerable side effects that might respond to dose change, switch, or adjunct.
A DSM-5-TR diagnosis that has an evidence-based pharmacologic option the patient wants to consider.
Visit flow for Medication Management
Share the plan with the therapist when consent exists.
Review PDMP and allergies.
No-show after a high-risk start triggers outreach.
Counsel on onset, alcohol, driving, pregnancy, and overdose risk.
In-office versus Florida telehealth
Pembroke Pines sits in Broward County. County-level resources (crisis lines, hospital ERs, IOP programs) are discussed during Medication Management when a higher level of care is safer than outpatient titration.
Neighborhoods we hear from most in Pembroke Pines include Chapel Trail, Pembroke Falls, Century Village, and the Pines Boulevard spine. ZIP codes 33023, 33024, 33025, 33026 map to this service-area page.
Set the next visit before the bottle runs out.
Document why a requested stimulant or benzo was declined.
Clinical FAQ
What if side effects start this week?
Call the office. Do not wait for a distant follow-up if symptoms are severe. ER for emergency symptoms.
What about pregnancy?
